In Thailand, many men become monks for a brief period of time once they have reached the age of 20. This video shows a part of the ordination ceremony where the young man is taken around the bot three times on the shoulders of one of his relatives.
I shot this video at my local temple in Samut Prakan. The young man being ordained was my student about eight years ago.
